From My In-Box

"On Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in Annapolis at a hearing on the proposed Constitutional Amendment to prohibit gay marriage, Jamie Raskin, professor of law at American University, was requested to testify.

At the end of his testimony, Republican Senator Nancy Jacobs said: "Mr. Raskin, my Bible says marriage is only between a man and a woman. What do you have to say about that?"

Raskin replied: "Senator, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You did not place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible.""

My dad sent this to me as well.

It's just so right on.

I feel like sending it to every single member of congress and state legislator.

Sing it, sister.

Besides, everyone knows that if you have a problem with two gay dudes having sex, let them get married. Before you know it, they won't be having sex. Just like every other married couple I know.

See? Problem solved for everyone.

I'd like her to show us just exactly where in the Bible it says "marriage is only between an man and a woman."

Then again, she says "her" Bible says that. So maybe she scrawled it herself, in a margin somewhere.

Because "my" ungrafittied Bible doesn't say that anywhere, thank you very much and I'm a has-been Baptist so I know "my" Bible.
